The ideal incarnation of BMW's M philosophy, the Concept M4 Coupe previews the upcoming production model. Set to debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend, the BMW Concept M4 Coupe has been officially unveiled as a precursor to the production model. Finished in a unique shade of “Aurum Dust,” the M4 Concept shows us what BMW has in store for the production model from a styling perspective yet reveals nothing about what’s going on under the hood. Reports have previously indicated the new M3/M4 will use a twin- or triple-tuborcharged 3.2-liter straight-six rated at 450 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.

Design follows function, with focus on power, control and handling. At the front, the classic BMW face sports freshly designed round headlamps featuring LED tech, double bar kidney grille aping the double-spoke design of the M wheels, a carbon-fiber front splitter, three large air intakes, and power dome hood. Typical muscular wheel arches housing two-tone 20-inch alloys, redesigned M gill and contoured carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof dominate the side profile, while main features of the sculpted rear end include a trunk-lid spoiler, optical air vents, and carbon-fiber twin tailpipes and rear diffuser.
