A total of ten new race lap records and nine qualifying lap records were set during the 2014 season on Bridgestone BATTLAX MotoGP™ race tyres.

Over 2,473,624 spectators attended the eighteen rounds around the world joining fans around the globe tuning in to watch the races on television scoring a record number of fans for the second consecutive year.

In his second successive win in the MotoGP™ World Championship, Marc Marquez as the Repsol Honda rider scored a record thirteen victories in a premier class season. It was a high entertaining race. Valentino Rossi scored two victories and eleven podiums on his way to second in the championship with the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP™ team, while his teammate Jorge Lorenzo showed his typical, unrelenting pace to finish the second half of the season strongly with two victories. Ducati Team riders Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow demonstrated the Italian manufacturer will be a force to be reckoned with in 2015 with some impressive performances throughout the year, including three podiums between themselves.
