There are some things in this world that are nothing but awesome and the Mercedes-Benz 6x6 G63 AMG is one of them. The German automaker has just released full details and photos for its borderline bonkers six-wheeled wonder, which is based on the G63 AMG wagon. Powered by the same 5.5-liter biturbo V8 that produces 544 horsepower and mated to a seven-speed gearbox that sends power to all six wheels, the 6x6 G63 has 18.1 inches of ground clearance - quite a big difference over the standard G63’s which measures at 8.27 inches.

It rides on a set of massive 37-inch tires and features five differential locks, portal axles, a tire pressure monitoring system and a payload capacity reportedly rated at 1,433 lbs. The biggest difference between the 6x6 and the standard G63 AMG, aside from the extra wheels, is that the springs and dampers have been adjusted in order to accommodate the third axle. The interior, as expected, is decked out in all of the typical G-Wagen luxury flare with leather upholstery and Alcantara trim. Even the rear cargo hold is lined with bamboo. The question now is whether Mercedes will build it. Only two units have been made so far and the automaker is waiting to see if enough demand exists. No word yet regarding possible pricing, but we have a feeling there are plenty of willing takers out there.
