The Italian carmaker categorically denies recent rumors of a more extreme LaFerrari. If you’d missed out one of the 499 examples of the LaFerrari being built, the news that a more exclusive model was on the way would have made for happy reading. Unfortunately, the rumors of a “Super” LaFerrari with more power and less weight have proven to be just that. Cars UK has cleared things up after Autocar broke the original story. That came about after a chat with the supercar’s head designer Flavio Manzoni who said certain design elements created for the LaFerrari that weren’t used were to be saved for future models

Autocar took that as meaning a more extreme, more expensive LaFerrari was being planned. Having seen the reports that soon spread across automotive publications like wildfire, Ferrari has been quick to quash them categorically, stating it has no plans whatsoever to bring out a model to sit above the LaFerrari, and that such a model is not even on the table. The 499 buyers of the LaFerrari can all now let out a collective sigh of relief that they’re exclusive supercars will remain as such
