This Bizarre Porsche-Lambo Love Child Is The Best Car You Never Knew Existed

This 1988 Sbarro Challenge III is based on a 911 Carrera. We need it. At least we think we do...

Always wanted a Porsche 911, but never liked the look? Fear not, for this Sbarro Challenge III Lambo lookalike is the car you’ve been waiting for. Possibly…

Apparently, just 10 of these limited-production copies were ever built – this one being number 007 – and it uses a 400bhp, 3.3-litre Porsche 911 Carrera from the late 1980s as its base.

As the crazy looks suggest, this is no standard car. The Sbarro boasts unique features including a front windscreen that slides down sunroof-style and, in case you too like to reinvent the wheel, wipers that work on rotation.

While it does without lycra leggings and glow sticks, the car’s ‘80s credentials are further boosted by the inclusion of a VHS video player – no need to bin the retro porn just yet – and a ‘prototype’ Alpine CD unit.

Add to that air brakes a la Veyron, 19-inch rear wheels (17 inches at the front), a drag coefficient of just 0.26 – a Lamborghini Aventador musters a number of 0.32 – and you’ve got one hugely exciting piece of ‘80s memorabilia.

And the value of such a special machine? Well, it carries a Price On Application tag and is currently in Spain. Quite frankly, we can’t think of any better excuse to get over there for a look.

Watch the beast in action below and get ready for some seriously badass 80s tuneage!
