Very severe weather and heavy rainfall, in addition to snow on low altitudes, will hit Lebanon in the next few days.

Internal Security Forces issued a statement on Sunday urging citizens to take precautionary measures against the upcoming storm named Alexa.

“The ISF general directorate asks citizens to drive carefully and not take mountainous roads unless it is necessary and only after making sure the road is open and safe.”

The ISF also asked citizens who need to take snowy roads to equip their cars with metal chains, have full tanks of gas, extra clothing items, food, water, and charged cellular phone.

“Citizens must have a first aid kit, a small shovel, extra metal chains and a spare tire with an entire kit for changing tires,” the statement added.

The ISF also said that it will be prepared to aid citizens in all Lebanese regions and instructed them to call the ISF on number 112 in case of any emergency.

The storm is expected to last for several days.
